Our bus ride was a wide opened view of the country side as we wound through tight corners and mountains. It was beautiful.

We got back to Guadalajara, stopped by the hotel and then were off for our last excursion. The ZOO!!
Overall it was a pretty great zoo. We tried to see everything but it was pretty big and we walked around a lot. My favorite exhibits were probably the polar bear and the monkeys. One of the great things about this zoo is that they're more open to people being in the cages with the animals. So, for example, we walked around in an area in which kangaroos could literally hop up to us if they wanted (sadly, it was pretty hot, so they all stayed in a shelter in the shade... I couldn't really blame them). We also saw these cute monkeys the size of a cat. They could climb on us and everything. You could actually "swim" with sharks if you wanted to. You had to pay extra money and probably sign a release... it was in a cage, so probably pretty safe, but still. This is the closest we got to the sharks.

Afterwards we went to the restaurant "La Vaca". The steak was amazing and we really enjoyed our meals. Then it was back to the hotel to pack up. I had a really great time getting to know Guadalajara. It really is quite the city with so many diverse areas. The sad thing is, I still only know about 5-10% of the city. So much to see... so this is just the start.
